Letter to a confused young friend

Hi, there:

I am appreciate your emails which opened to me the door of your heart.A door is a symbol of privacy, of retreat, of the mind's escape into blissful quietness. Life is full of sound and fury. We want a quiet place to talk to an intimate friend or a warm-hearted stranger. I am fortunate to be either of them.

I have never been in your town, but I fully understand the customs and culture there as I live in another part of Shandong pro vince. There are kindness, goodness and many things adorable in our hometown. However, we can't deny that there are also cruelty, bitterness and a lot of bad thins there. To my amazement, a peasant who wiped stools of his ill parent would folded his arms and watched his blind neighbor being trapped by rascals hired by the local government. Human being is just as complicated as stars on the sky. We can't cypher the code of their mind.

Regarding reading, I believe it's a kind of gift from above. I know a lot of people, clever and sharp-minded, but don't like to read. To them, the function of a book is as same as an episode of TV show, entertaining and time-killing, but generating nothing profound. I, as a book-lover, oppose this idea. To me, reading is an advocation. Gold and silver she has none, but in the name of wisdom and beauty, she can make a cripple man rise and walk.

Please don't say "I am loser". No loser struggles to drag himself from the swamp of life. At least, you haven't tried everything. Life has many possibilities. We have to find the way out.

I realize that doing is better than thinking or planning. Be a doer
instead of a dreamer. When I thought about selling winter jujube
online, I didn't know how to start. But I stepped forward with
audacity. The success of this small business does encourage me. For the first time, I believe that knowledge is power indeed.

As a friend, I wish you happiness and prosperity, but above all, I
wish you could find your vocation. We should not come to this world in vain. On the contrary, we come here with a purpose. You should find it and I believe you will find it.

All the best.
